The short version: Shark Tycoon is a game. The money in it is not money, the companies are invented, and nothing it teaches is financial advice. Play fair, don't wreck it for other players, and we'll keep it running.

Agreeing to this

By playing Shark Tycoon — in a browser or in the app — you agree to what is on this page. If you do not, please don't play. We may update these terms; if we change something that matters, the date above moves and the change is described at the bottom.

This is not financial advice

Shark Tycoon uses real vocabulary from real investing: valuation, burn rate, cap tables, dilution, LTV, CAC. We work hard to define those terms correctly, because a game that teaches something false is worse than one that teaches nothing.

But it is still a game, and a simplified one. The market simulation is tuned to be fun, not to be accurate. Nothing here is investment, financial, legal or tax advice, no outcome in the game predicts any real outcome, and you should not make a real financial decision because of something that worked in Shark Tycoon. Talk to a qualified professional instead.

Your account

The game creates an anonymous account for you automatically — you don't sign up. You may optionally link a Google or Apple sign-in so your progress survives losing the device. How that works, and what we store, is in the Privacy Policy.

Please link an account if your progress matters to you. An unlinked, anonymous save is tied to a device identifier. If you clear your site data, lose the device or uninstall the app, we generally cannot recover it and cannot prove it was yours.

In-game items and currency

• Cash, shares, cards, trophies and every other in-game item are a licence to use them inside the game. You do not own them, and they are not property.
• They have no real-world value, cannot be cashed out, sold for real money, or transferred off the platform. Trading between players happens in in-game currency only.
• We may rebalance, change or remove them. This is a live game and its economy will be tuned; a card that is strong today may be adjusted tomorrow.
• Seasons and leaderboards reset by design.

Rewarded ads

In the mobile app you can choose to watch an advert in exchange for an in-game reward. That is always your choice — no part of the game is locked behind it. The reward is in-game only. If an advert fails to load or is closed early, the reward may not be granted; that is not a purchase and nothing is owed to you.

Fair play

Please don't:

• Modify, decompile or tamper with the game, or use bots, scripts or automation.
• Exploit a bug for advantage instead of reporting it. If you find one, tell us.
• Run multiple accounts to manipulate leaderboards, trades or the shared market.
• Choose a display name that is abusive, hateful, obscene, impersonates someone, or would upset a reasonable player — other players can see it.
• Attack, overload or probe the service, or try to reach data that is not yours.

We may remove a display name, roll back manipulated progress, or close an account that does these things. Where it's a close call we will lean toward warning you first.

Availability

We run this as well as we reasonably can, but we do not promise the game will always be available, uninterrupted, bug-free, or that your progress will never be lost. Parts of it depend on services we do not control. We may change or discontinue features, and if we ever have to shut the game down we will say so on this page first.

Age

Shark Tycoon is not directed at children under 13, and you should not create an account if you are under 13. If you are under 18, please play only with a parent or guardian's permission.

Liability

Shark Tycoon is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We are not liable for lost progress, lost in-game items, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from playing. Nothing here limits any right you have under the consumer law of your country that cannot be limited by agreement — those rights always come first.

Ending it

You can stop at any time; to have your synced data deleted, follow the steps in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks the fair-play rules above, or where we are required to by law.
